Nu-Yale Cleaners is committed to protecting the environment while delivering superior cleaning results. In 2008, we introduced Glacier Dry Cleaning - a revolutionary dry cleaning process that has made Nu-Yale Cleaners a leader in green garment care. As the first in the Kentuckiana area to adopt this technology, we’ve set a new standard for eco-friendly dry cleaning.
Our Glacier Dry Cleaning process uses SOLVONK4, a USDA Certified Biobased Product composed of 88% bio-based materials derived from corn. This innovative, halogen-free solvent replaces crude oil with renewable plant-based resources, making it the first of its kind in dry cleaning technology. Produced in Minnesota from corn grown by over 150 family-owned farms, SOLVONK4 reduces environmental risks to air, water, and soil, all while being hypoallergenic and rated “very good” by dermatologists.
Nu-Yale is also proud to be recognized as a Certified Environmental Drycleaner by the International Fabricare Institute (IFI), acknowledging our dedication to safe, environmentally responsible practices.
